The diffusion of coloured dots illustrate both the disease and the cure; to fight a threat that is spreading and scattering, you need to spread and scatter the solution.
Coloured dots illustrate the different subjects of the six chapters. In the chapter about risk decreasing for drug users, the dots fall to the bottom of the page. In other chapters, they form a barrier, they group, they map, they create paths or appear to try to catch each other from either side of the page. Finally, in the chapter describing life with HIV, they are almost gone thanks to the U=U discovery.
